And finally we come to the story of this particular piano… J. Becker factory was acquired by Schroeder in 1904, but the factory continued brilliant Becker production traditions. Instruments continued receiving top prizes on International Faires and Expos. During the 1st World War the production of pianos slowly came to almost complete halt. October revolution did not go well with the owner, fac...

3 pianos from the same piano maker. Up until the 2nd World War Concert stage sound was fully dominated by Bechstein's pianos and was forming the culture of sound that was a "standard" at the time influencing all manufacturers to follow the tone quality. This would probably still be true if Steinway did not bribe American pilots to make a "detour" from military targets and drop bombs onto Berlin...

Polonaise-fantaisie in A-flat major, Op. 61, is a composition for piano by Frédéric Chopin. It was dedicated to Mme A. Veyret, written and published in 1846. This work was slow to gain favour with musicians, due to its harmonic complexity and intricate form. Arthur Hedley was one of the first critics to speak positively of the work, writing in 1947 that it 'works on the hearer's imagination wit...

The best I've ever heard
1:05 somehow she looks a lot younger than when she played piano... Hmph...
She ruins it. Too fast at the sentimental climax. She loses all feeling that was meant to be after the slow quiet build-up to it. She's not as clever as she thinks she is. A bit like Martha Argerich, who thinks speed and technique is the be all. They have it all wrong and need to be corrected. They simplify the music. I would like to add, please do not let Lisitsa or Argerich anywhere near Bach the subtleties and harmonic emphasis is lost on them. To the unenlightened who think these are good, it is very sad.
Fantastic!!!!
Meravigliosa❤❤❤❤
Wow. Breathtaking.
Wow
It's mad how you can 'hear' the orchestra, despite there not being an orchestra, it's somehow as beautiful, maybe even more so as you get to hear the intricate detail of the piano in solo too. Like reading a book and imagining the characters is often better than the movie they made based on the book. Bravo!
Oh my, just beautiful! Thanks.
Valentina is the living example ofperfection, The woman is astonishing.
I hope Beethoven never stops writing beautiful works like this. I look forward to his next masterpiece.
Exzellente Interpretation!
More than rousseau
Wow I have not heard it like this before, beautiful. Definitely going to learn it now.

there are angles...thank...love...
Toda una genialidad esta mujer que disiplina❤
Hey, look! It's started snowing...
I love the idea of playing the whole series of their pieces
Thanks for these. I would like to listen to all of Chopin's etudes.
Notwithstanding the exemplary playing from Valentina, the video editing is on point! Such a satisfying video!
Ausgezeichnet gespielt!❤
Seen again..
Rubinstein and Lisitsa are, by far, my favourite Chopin interpreters. This is yet another example.
i was never afforded the privilege to work on a grand piano like this, but better pianist have done phenomenal job at ensuring a relationship with piano manufactures to produce great instrument
maybe we should take a sample of taylor swift hair sample
i don't know if it's a good idea to clone chopin, might be a world ending decision
we have talented pianist of great order preserving chopin's legacy, who can breathe new life into his music, that's for future artist to find out
Great playing of course, but it felt very rushed.
Mesmerising
Love love love!! Wish I could thumbs up every time I watch it.
Wish we could thumbs up this video every time we watch it.
This is a super rich and delicate piece. It's as I consider a ' twice ' baked nocturne dipped in smooth, velvety pianissimo passage work
Excellent performance!🎉
on of my schools students i was on 9th grade it was like on the first of this month when school ended and he goes and pulls this amazing song he was just so good and i be he gets all the bitches lol
I've been coming back to this video since what it feels like a completely different life to me (since 2010). I remember it first came out because I already a big Lisitsa fan! It was also my final piano course exam repertoire's sonata. Brings back so many memories! I used to watch this almost every day this back when I was studying it. Love Valentina's interpretations! ❤
